This is a small attempt to provide maps for the game soldat by Michal Marcinkowski.
It all started one day at work, some friends ask me if I would like to join them playing this excellent little shooter during the brakes. "Sure thing" (or "Visst, varför inte") I replied. One of the guys started to mail us his home made maps after two weeks of playing the standard maps. No offence, they are very good, but for three or four players, a lot of maps are way too large.
Then one day (earlier today as a matter of fact) he came up with a plan to publish the maps on the internet so that others may enjoy them as much as we did. Well, I started this little project (2003-04-18) later that day, and it ended up something like this.
Future plans:
We would really like other mappers to be able to share their work on this site, so my next task is to design some kind of submit-function to this site...How, or when this will be finnished, I don't know, and in the meantime everyone who would like to share their work can send the map to me, with information about the map (like on the first page). If you have a screenshot, supply it as well or I will snap it when I get a chance. Just press F11 in soldat to take a screenshot and it will be saved in the screens-folder were soldat is installed.
Addition:
The maps will be alphabeticaly sorted, but with some options to change sorting. If we get a lot of nice response I might be able to implement tracking of downloads and a top 5?
Well, time flies as bodyparts! A lot has happend over the last few days since we started this site. Almost 10000 hits during the first month! I added a news-page so it would be easier to track changes.
By the way, all of our future plans have been fulfilled.
Well, all in good time, I suppose...
/David
